Britney Spears and Isaac Cohen have taken their hookup to new heights: a Fantasy Tower suite at The Palms in Las Vegas.

Sources tell PEOPLE the couple stayed in the tower's $40,000-a-night, two-story Hugh Hefner Sky Villa on Saturday, where a Jacuzzi pool, a glass elevator, an 8-ft. rotating bed and a full bar are among the amenities.

"They seem very happy together," says a source who spotted the two, who started dating in the past month. Hotel officials had no comment.

The trip was Spears's first appearance in Las Vegas since hosting a much-talked-about party at Pure nightclub on New Year's Eve – where, her rep told PEOPLE, she fell asp.

It was a different scene Saturday night. Spears and model-actor Cohen, both 25, danced and smoked cigarettes at 8½, a gay club off the Strip, before leaving after about an hour.

Sunday night was even busier. After dinner at Social House and taking in a performance of Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity, the couple fueled up on Red Bull and then hit the Coyote Ugly bar.

But after that, Cohen slipped back into the hotel while Spears moved on to Pure with several of her dancers and revisited her VIP table from New Year's Eve. She sipped Dom Perignon, danced to Madonna and stayed till about 3:30 a.m.

This is the second weekend in a row that the couple have been seen together. On Jan. 6 they hung out on a powerboat off Marina del Rey, outside L.A., and the next night met up at the W Hotel's Whiskey Blue bar in Westwood.

Of the 13 teams in Major League Soccer, Giorgio Armani thinks he knows why David Beckham chose the Los Angeles Galaxy: because Hollywood is a stone's throw away.

"If (reports that Beckham's deal is worth $250 million) are true, then he has done the right thing. And I think he wants to be an actor, not a footballer," Armani told reporters at Milan's fashion shows on Monday, Reuters reports.

"He is a very handsome man, and his football career could be nearing an end," Armani said. "Also look at his wife. ... I saw her at Tom Cruise's wedding, and she is a very bubbly lady."

Beckham, 31, and wife Victoria (a.k.a. Posh Spice), 32, are set to move to Los Angeles later this year, once the former England captain's tenure at his current team, Real Madrid, comes to a close.

Professionally, the midfielder has been known throughout his career for his laser crosses and dipping free kicks – skills that may not seem easily translatable to the screen. But his celebrity continues to grow, and he has plenty of friends in show business. Beckham told reporters on Friday that he had sought the advice of Tom Cruise before agreeing to the move.

"They both love Los Angeles," a family friend tells PEOPLE of the Beckhams. "It will be good for their careers, they adore the lifestyle, the weather and it would be brilliant for their boys."

Paula Abdul says the reason her behavior seemed so bizarre during a TV appearance last week was because of an audio snafu during a live interview to promote the new season of American Idol.

Appearing on The Tonight Show on Monday, Jay Leno quizzed the Idol judge on the clip, which has since become a hot property on the Internet.

"I did a big week of press all last week in New York, and on the third day I did one of those press junkets where you're in that one little room and you're looking at one camera and there are 30 cities talking into your ear," said Abdul. "I guess Alabama was in my ear and so was Seattle at the same time, so I'm answering questions to the wrong answers of the cities. So they're going, 'What the heck ... what is she saying?' "

Abdul, 44, made the strange appearance on a local Seattle station in which she swayed, bobbed and winked at the anchors. When asked what she was looking forward to on the new season of Idol, Abdul responded enigmatically: "How about a lot of you coming in. It's a wild party where you are."

Afterwards, Abdul's spokesman, Jeff Ballard, told PEOPLE the incident is "really much ado about nothing." And when asked whether the Idol judge was drinking or under the influence of drugs during the appearance Ballard said: "Absolutely not."

FOX Network issued a statement on Monday in support of Abdul: "Rather than getting angry about these difficulties, or stopping the tour, Paula forged ahead and decided to have fun with the increasingly challenging situation. Unfortunately, because reporters and viewers were unaware of the situation, her humor was misconstrued."

Abdul also made an odd appearance on the San Francisco area station KTVU during which the anchor asked her, "Do you always wiggle around that much? You're just wiggling around." Abdul laughed and answered, "I'm a dancer."

Never short of humor, Abdul was happy to laugh about the audio anarchy with host Leno. "(It was) not my fault. I was having fun," Abdul said as she threw her hands in the air. She then quipped, "I answered the right questions in one of the cities."

The sixth season of American Idol premieres Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.

The "Irreplaceable" singer is set to perform night-of, it was announced today, so you know it's going to be a big show already. The last time she performed at the Grammy Awards, Beyonce (left, in '04) duetted with Prince, had a dove (yes, a real dove) land in her hand during an elaborate set and ended up going home with five trophies. You can bet Beyonce (who's also up for a Golden Globe) is hoping for a little "Deja Vu" on Feb. 11, when she'll be up for four awards. Joining her as performers will be fellow nominees Dixie Chicks, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Gnarls Barkley. Rihanna and Pink and actors Terrence Howard and Samuel L. Jackson are among presenters.

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan has checked into rehab, she said in a statement Wednesday.

"I have made a proactive decision to take care of my personal health," the star said in her statement. "I appreciate your well wishes and ask that you please respect my privacy at this time."

A source close to the actress tells PEOPLE: "Lindsay is in a very positive frame of mind and is looking forward to making a positive change in her life."

In December, a rep for the 20-year-old actress told PEOPLE that her client was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Later that month, Lohan revealed that she had been in AA for a year, and said she generally feels better when she's not drinking.

"I was going out too much and I knew that, and I have more to live for than that," she told PEOPLE.

Prior to December, however, Lohan dismissed critics who said she was partying too often. In November, she told Oprah Winfrey that she is not a party girl, adding, "Is it a crime to go dancing with your friends?"

Over the summer, James G. Robinson, CEO of Morgan Creek Productions blasted the star for being absent from the set of her movie Georgia Rule and blamed her "heavy partying" for the behavior.

Lohan's mother Dina quickly shot back, saying the media mogul was "way out of line." Lohan was briefly hospitalized at the time for being "overheated and dehydrated," according to her rep.

Timberlake and Diaz

Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz, who announced last week that they'd split up, got into a heated argument at Prince's Golden Globes afterparty early Tuesday morning.

The exes, who'd chatted politely during the awards ceremony and even shared laughs at InStyle's annual afterparty, hit the rough patch in their officially amicable breakup at a wee-hours bash hosted by the singer at the Beverly Wilshire hotel.

According to witnesses, Timberlake was chatting with actress Jessica Biel when Diaz approached. Biel stepped away, and the former couple had a serious exchange.

Diaz walked away, Timberlake followed, and the two were soon spotted engaged in an intense 40-minute face-off in a side room.

Diaz reemerged looking composed, but not before Timberlake held his head in his hands and, says a witness, "slammed his fist (down) into a cabinet."
